Oyibode Urges Udu Residents to Use Christmas as a Time for Reconciliation and Peace”
The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP FCIA, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Nigerians, Deltans, and the people of Udu Local Government Area, including both indigenes and non-indigenes. In his heartfelt message, Hon. Oyibode expressed joy and hope for a peaceful, joyous, and fulfilling celebration of the Christmas season.
Commending his boss, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State, Hon. Oyibode applauded the gradual fulfillment of the MORE Agenda, which has resulted in significant infrastructural development across the state.
Olorogun Oyibode emphasized that Christmas is not just a time for celebration but also a season for reflection and reconciliation. “This is a time to reflect deeply on the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the true meaning of His coming to the world,” he said.
“It is a time to let go of past grudges, seek reconciliation, and embrace the spirit of forgiveness. The message of peace and love that Christ brought to the world must be evident in our actions and relationships.”
The Udu Council Chairman underscored the need for peace within families, communities, and the nation at large. “Let us not just speak of peace but actively live it,” he urged. “This season of Christmas calls us to draw closer to God, seek His guidance, and align our lives with His divine will. We must prioritize unity, understanding, and harmony in all that we do.”
Hon. Oyibode encouraged everyone to embrace the season with renewed love and unity. “This is a time to share joy and kindness, especially with those who are less fortunate,” he said. “May we extend a hand of compassion to those in need and share our blessings with them.”
He wished the people of Udu Local Government a safe, happy, and blessed Christmas season. “As we celebrate, let us also reflect on our lives, make amends where necessary, and commit ourselves to building a more harmonious society,” he added.
The Chairman concluded with a call to action: “Let the spirit of Christmas guide our decisions and actions in the days ahead as we work together to create a better and more peaceful Udu Local Government Council.”
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all!
